The Old Lady and the Pigeons

The Old Lady and the Pigeons is a 1997 animated short film written and directed by Sylvain Chomet. It tells the slightly surreal story of a starving policeman who dresses up as a pigeon and tricks an old lady into feeding him.

  1. If you like that you should really check out Sylvain Chomet. He’s got some hidden short jems out there and his feature length animated films The Illusionist and The Triplets of Belleville are great. Sylvain Chomet is French and so are most of his characters. He also uses very little dialogue if any and relies on the action and emotion of the characters to tell the story. Good stuff!
